For me, when it came on to the choice of moving on from a lesson, I would rely on my comfort with the material. Good thing to know that I wasn't the only one asking this question. I've also been using to practice and increase my typing speed. You get silver stars for getting double the wpm for 5 stars, so if you get silver you know you've really mastered that lesson. Silver stars are much harder than 5 stars and signify the points cap. I agree to a certain extent but feel that now what works better is to focus on accuracy then speed then accuracy then speed, slowly getting faster.Īnother thing I do besides practice with other resources during a progress plateau is to back through old lessons and try to get silver stars. The other comment said to focus on accuracy.
(Although sometimes you just need to rest a bit) I do this whenever I hit a plateau in progress. Progress is much slower now and I've used other websites to supplement my progress. I'm not sure what lesson number I'm on (maybe in the 500s?) But I need 65 wpm for 5 stars at the moment. Keep progressing as long as you get 5 stars because it gets much harder later and it's really motivating to progress at the start of your journey.
The other reply was pretty good but I want to second the encouragement from the other commenter.
